11.26.05 - leftovers and other things

Man, I woke up early all by myself this morning. Go figure. And we stayed up like til midnight last night just fooling around.

Well, Kate would be mad if I was still in bed cause she wants to go to Wal-Mart early this morning. She wants to get Val & Denny something.

Naturally, I opened my big mouth and said, "What the hell for?" Like we're best friends or something. More like brand new friends. Does that mean we gotta get them something?

Then you gotta consider what to get these dudes as a couple too. Kate's all worked up over it. Bet they don't get us a thing. And if they did, it might be a MacDonald's booklet of coupons or a small gift card. Which would be sweet, but I don't know why she wants to go to all the trouble of getting them something when they've never even invited us over. But its like so important to her for us to do things with them.

And then she's got this list for the co-workers we all work with. Its like the list gets longer and longer. Its hard to enjoy anything about Christmas with all the thought put in to get people stuff who have more stuff than they need already.

Oh yeah, the weather is supposed to get really bad again. Another reason to shop early. Hopefully, she'll let me get some music today. Its just I don't know what is a must have anymore. Kind of like to get some DECEMBERISTS stuff or that DEATH CAB FOR CUTIE cd. I think Kate wants the soundtrack from GREY'S ANATOMY. We've decided we'd just give each other music this Christmas. But I know she wants clothes. She always does.

I gotta say I miss my friend Stevo who used to give me a lot of his hand-me-downs. Of course, then I didn't exactly know he was gay. But yeah, I dressed well back in high school. I guess. Lots of brand names my Mom would never spend a fortune on. Probably went years before having to buy myself actual sneakers. Kind of miss the dude, but he's like moved up to K.C.. Doubt I ever hear from him again.

I can only imagine all the electronics this dude has now. Or his long list of items he's got to have this year. In spite of all that, I know he'd say something like, "Hey, all that stuff can't bring back the happiness you have with your family." Yeah, something like that.

But uh, I better get my sausage and biscuit heated up and get the hell out of here to do some shopping. She wants to go by the post office, too.

This isn't exactly how I wanted to get tired out today.
